Good writing and spot on!

I think we need to mention on more person to the success of Jackson's best albums, and that's Bruce Swedien (which of course brings us back to Quincy Jones I guess! :p)

very well done. thanks for sharing this.
given Michael's voice, unbelievable dancing ability, phenomenal showmanship, charisma and mega-star potential as a solo artist post-Jackson 5, he clearly would've been big even if he had hooked up with a series of other (and lesser) producers between '78 and '87. But it is a bit hard to imagine his being catapulted into the superstar stratosphere without Quincy's brilliant production and the sound of "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" "Rock With You," and, of course, "Thriller" and "Billie Jean."

Course i grew up with Michael as the lead singer of the Jackson 5, wearing out a vinyl 45 of "I Want You Back" as a little kid. And I was a jazz snob during the Off The Wall -> Bad years. But, having grown up with a household full of Quincy Jones' own '70s albums, I couldn't get enough (and didn't stop) as Michael & Quincy made history. r.i.p. MJ
